Product Details

The cold heading machine is a specialized device mainly used for mass production of fasteners such as nuts and bolts. The earliest cold heading machine in the world originated in Germany, and the main purpose of developing the cold heading machine at that time was to manufacture bullet shells in large quantities during World War II.
  Cold heading process
(1) According to the theory of metal plastic deformation, a certain pressure is applied to the metal blank at room temperature, causing it to undergo plastic deformation in the mold cavity, forming according to specified shapes and sizes.
(2) High-quality metal materials with good "plastic deformation" must be selected, such as rivet steel, which has strict standards for chemical composition and mechanical properties.
(3) There are multiple models and series of cold heading machines for forming bolts and nuts. The equipment is reliable in performance, high in efficiency, and stable in product quality.
(4) The forming and forging force of the product is large, and the power configuration is significant, so the production specification below M24 is the most economical.
(5) It has good surface quality and high dimensional accuracy. Due to cold work hardening during the forging process, the amount of deformation should not be too large to reduce cracking.
(6) The cold heading process is applicable to products with large batch sizes and various specifications, which can help reduce costs.
Modern cold heading machines have evolved from simple two-station machines to multi-station machines, with the latest domestic varieties including 5-die, 6-die, and extended 6-die cold heading machines.
Cold heading machine safety operating procedures:
1. It is prohibited to operate the cold heading machine while wearing gloves.
2. Before starting, all fasteners of the equipment must be carefully checked to ensure they are tightened, and the safety protection devices must be intact. Regular checks during operation are necessary to prevent loosening due to severe vibrations, which could cause accidents.
3. After adjusting the equipment, first turn the flywheel to check whether each mechanism is working normally. Only after removing the lever used for the flywheel can the motor be started. It is strictly prohibited to start the motor while turning the lever.
4. All faults must be eliminated before starting the machine, and a short idle run should be conducted before testing the heading.
5. During operation, the operator should stand in a safe position. It is strictly prohibited to handle workpieces at the concave and convex die areas; only the lower end of the product may be inspected.
6. When changing products, the molds and punches must be carefully adjusted, and all components should be meticulously checked for normalcy.
7. If a fault occurs during production, the machine must be stopped immediately, the cause must be identified, and potential hazards must be eliminated. It is strictly prohibited to operate the machine when the brakes fail.
8. The safety plate (safety rod) must be equipped with protective devices to prevent accidents from breakage. All protective devices must not be arbitrarily disassembled or lost.
