The cold heading machine uses the cold heading process to manufacture fasteners and connectors (such as bolts, nuts, screws, rivets, etc.). The steel used is called cold heading steel, commonly referred to as rivet steel. Commonly used types include quenched and tempered alloy steel, low carbon low alloy high strength steel, ferritic-martensitic dual-phase steel, and low temperature quenched alloy structural steel. Cold heading is a process that uses metal for plastic forming at room temperature. The use of cold heading technology to manufacture fasteners is not only efficient and of good quality but also saves materials and reduces costs. However, the cold heading process requires higher quality raw materials.

冷镦机使用冷镦加工方法来制造紧固件和连接器（例如螺栓，螺母，螺钉，铆钉等）。所使用的钢称为冷镦钢，通常称为铆接钢。常用的是调质合金钢，低碳低合金高强度钢，铁素体-马氏体双相钢，低温调质合金结构钢等。冷镦是在室温下使用金属进行塑性成形使用冷镦技术制造紧固件不仅效率高，质量好，而且节省了材料，降低了成本，但是冷镦过程需要更高质量的原材料。

冷镦机的特点：

1.车身与曲轴之间的连接以及冲击连杆均通过高耐磨合金铜瓦连接，使用寿命长，承载力大，维护成本低。

2.机体采用合金球墨铸铁铸造，具有良好的耐磨性和较高的抗拉强度。采用两级齿轮传动系统，传动扭矩大，传动效率高。

3.配备制动器和气动离合器，以减少电机功耗。

4.切割系统采用导板驱动刀杆，导板往复运动，切削力线性传递，稳定，力大，动平衡好。

5.夹具系统可以平移或翻转180度，有利于成型工艺的安排。

6.配备故障检测器和安全保护装置，当设备无法为设备和模具提供最大程度的保护时，它将自动停止。配备变频调速装置，可在一定范围内无级调速。

7.送纸箱装有推力装置，提高送纸精度。
